The risk register is fully customisable and is the recommended place to work with risks. All table fields are editable inline and the user can jump to the corresponding Jira issues with a single click. All risks shall at minimum have one project or board type risk register.

Edit Risks

The fields fields summary, assignee and status are directly editable in the table. The severity is editable pressing the colorer severity field and then modifying the sliders “probability“ and “Impact“. Please note that the mapping between “probability“ and “impact“ to severity is fully configurable pressing the settings icon.

Add Mitigations to Risk

Mitigations can be added to Risks as described in the risk mitigation pages

Risk Log

To open the log press the action icon and select “Open Risk Log“. Risk impact and probability changes are automatically logged including date and person doing the change. Manual entries can also be added and please note that log items are stored as comments in the corresponding Jira risk issue.

Export Risks to Excel or CSV

Delete Risks

Risks are deleted by selecting “Remove Risk“ in the risk actions. Please note that the actual issue is not deleted instead the association with the corresponding Jira project is removed.

 

Sort & Filter Risks

The solution supports full sorting and filtering of risks. Use the quick filter and/or the filter & sort in each column header.

 

Settings

General Settings (only Jira admins can modify settings)

  • Turn on/off adding mitigations to risks

  • Disable/enable the possibility to export the Risk Register to Excel

  • Lock modifying Risk Register table columns to only Jira admins

  • Add risk register Home URL. One example is for teams to add a link to the team Confluence page.

Permissions

  • User access to open a risk register are controlled with the global permission “Risk Register Access“

  • User access to individual risks are controlled with Jira issue permission (each risk is a Jira issue so normal Jira issue permission is applicable)

 

Customise Risk Register

Modify Table Columns

All Risk or Mitigation columns are fully customisable. Create, remove or swap order of columns in the column manager (marked below). Creating new columns with all Jira field are selectable as well as user created columns. Finally column width is easily changed dragging the column header.

 

Cell Color

Click on any Risk Register cell to color it individually. A typically use case is for companies adding custom Jira field working with colors on those fields.

Rearrange Risks with Drag & Drop

Drag risks or use the quick action commands to change the order.
