Risks assessment to Jira issues are done either from the risk register or directly in the Jira issue view. The assigned risk value is stored in a Jira issue structured called entity property. So a risk register is only a “container” that loads Jira issues and then the risk values shown are based on the issue entity property. Risk assessment can also be done with Jira Automation.

For each Jira project there is a corresponding risk register. Creating a Jira risk is the simple process of creating a normal Jira issue and attaching it to the selected risk register. A project can have multiple risks registers, a risk register can have risks from multiple Jira projects, a risk can be of multiple Jira issue types so the solution is truly flexible.
